One more stunt before I'm old enough to know better.

Little Tykes Portafilter

For the children of coffee fanatics, Little Tykes has released a line of coffee accessories, starting with the Little Tykes Portafilter.

Acutally, it came with a shovel set, so I’m sure it’s some kind of hand sifter. We’ll just pretend it’s to start kids down the path of caffeinated goodness, okay?

Menu Planning

Planning felt a little stagnant in days of late. I’d been reading the message boards, drinking coffee, researching vendors and staking out other shops, yet I didn’t feel I’d come any further. Something held me back, and yesterday I realized what.

I needed to finalize the menu.

The menu is key to every other aspect of the business.

  • Space needs to be allocated for storage, both shelf-stable and perishable.
  • The work area can’t be designed without defining required equipment.
  • Vendors can’t be finalized without knowing what vendors I need.
  • Accounting needs asset and account data.
  • Goverment codes and regulations can’t be met until I know what I’m offering.

The list goes on.

Now I’m plotting my menu options. It feels nice, like it’s the first thing I’m really setting in stone. Look for the finalized menu on the site in the near future.

Horray for Florentines

Remember kids, half hot chocolate, half brewed coffee is mighty darn tasty.

It’s like the Big Mac of the coffee world. Hardly groundbreaking. Hardly as subtle as a good shot of espresso.

But tasty.

Shameless Begging

It takes a lot of money to open a business. If you enjoy this site, root for the underdog or just have money to burn, won't you consider donating to my shop fund?

Anything you can do will help. Thanks a ton.
